Now you can get a laser peel, which
gives the best results available, without the pain or down time associated
with lasers in the past.
The Pixel Laser is a fractional ablative laser that
represents the best of both worlds for skin resurfacing: it combines
the proven effectiveness of an ablative approach with the patient comfort
level and convenience of a non-ablative approach. With this new laser,
the laser targets only a fraction of the skin surface (hence the name).
The laser penetrates the skin at many small pinpoints, stimulating the
collagen in the deep layers. The recovery is much quicker than with standard
CO2.
The Pixel Laser can be used on the face, neck, chest,
arms and hands – a much wider scope than traditional ablative technologies.
Designed to treat aged and photo-damaged skin, the
Pixel improves the quality and texture of the dermis while it stimulates
collagen regeneration. Recommended applications include:
- Skin resurfacing
- Laser peeling
- Wrinkles and fine lines
- Acne Scars
Skin resurfacing with the Pixel is a gradual process
that happens over several treatments, usually one treatment every 3 weeks.
The risk of infection is reduced significantly from previous conventional
treatment methods.
How Pixel works:
A preprogrammed laser beam passes through the patented
Pixel micro optics lens and penetrates the skin. It creates an ablative
and thermal effect at the pixel area – a micro-injury – without disturbing
the surrounding tissue. Those micro-injured areas start the process of
healing as collagen remodels, skin tightens and the skin texture improves.
What Happens After the Treatment?
The patient will experience a mild sunburn sensation
for about an hour and then virtually no discomfort. The skin will have
a pinkish tone for five to seven days. This is a normal sign that skin
is healing deeply. Swelling is mild and generally resolves in two to
three days. The patient may apply make-up or shave soon after treatment.
Typically patients can return to work the following day.
New epidermal skin develops immediately, within 24
hours. This process of skin repair involves various stages. Your skin
will have a bronzed appearance that lasts anywhere from three to fourteen
days, depending on the treatment level.
Your skin will naturally and vigorously exfoliate
as the reorganized epidermal skin replaces dead tissue. Flaking, is similar
to that of minor sunburn, but without the associated pain. Use of a moisturizer
will mask the appearance of flaking.
You are required to use sunscreen to protect the skin from sun exposure
during the healing phase. Applying a moisturizing sun block with
an SPF of at least 30-plus is recommended.
